National Test House, a century-old central government testing laboratory under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, has invited applications for 36 Young Professional posts. Advertisement no. NTH(HQ)/YP/ADVT./01/2026-27, dated 11.09.2026, with Corrigendum-01 dated 15.09.2026. READ THIS FIRST. These are NOT permanent government jobs, and not one of the 36 posts is located in Jammu & Kashmir. The engagement is purely contractual for one year, extendable up to a maximum of four years on satisfactory performance. NTH may terminate the contract with one month's notice from either side, and without any notice at all in case of breach of contract. No TA/DA is paid for attending the selection process, for joining, or on completion. The 36 posts are spread across NTH's laboratories at Ghaziabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Jaipur, Guwahati, Bengaluru and Varanasi. There is no Srinagar or Jammu location, and no J&K reservation applies. If you take one of these, you relocate. What makes it worth a look anyway: the money is real for a fresh or lightly experienced technical graduate. Senior Young Professionals draw Rs 70,000 a month consolidated and Junior Young Professionals Rs 40,000 a month consolidated, and each figure goes up by Rs 5,000 every year the contract is extended. Selection is by interview only, there is no written examination, there is no application fee, and the application is a single email. WHAT THE CORRIGENDUM CHANGED Corrigendum-01 dated 15.09.2026 made two changes that matter. First, the Jaipur Senior Young Professional (Technical-Microbiology) post has been re-designated as Senior Young Professional (Technical-Food Analyst). It now asks for M.Sc. in Chemistry, Food Science, Food Technology, Biochemistry, Microbiology or equivalent, AND the candidate must be a qualified Food Analyst as per FSSAI with knowledge of FSSAI and NABL requirements. If you were preparing for the Jaipur microbiology post, the requirement has changed under you. The Mumbai microbiology post is unchanged. Second, the age limit is now relaxable. The original advertisement printed a hard ceiling of 35 and 38 years. The corrigendum adds that the upper age limit may be relaxed for exceptionally qualified candidates, as determined by the Selection Committee and subject to approval of the Competent Authority. If you are a year or two over and genuinely strong on paper, you are no longer automatically out. ONE MORE WARNING ON THE APPLICATION NTH has put a notice on its own recruitment page stating that applications must be sent solely to the designated email address for the location applied for, and that submissions sent to any other email ID will be rejected. There are eleven different email addresses, one per location. Sending your application to the wrong one is not a delay, it is a rejection.

What you'll do

• Support NTH scientists in testing and quality evaluation of samples against national and international standards
• Maintain and upgrade the laboratory you are posted to, and assist in developing new test facilities
• Technical-RPPT: footwear, textile, rubber, polymer, paper and plastic testing, with knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements
• Technical-Microbiology, Chemical, Electrical, Civil, Mechanical: testing and evaluation in the respective discipline
• Technical-Food Analyst (Jaipur): food testing work as a qualified Food Analyst under FSSAI and NABL requirements
• Technical-IT: administration of the NTH regional LAN, and all IT, software, data analytics and MIS work, including LIMS
• Technical-Aerospace (Bengaluru): mechanical testing on servo-hydraulic UTM, fatigue and creep testing, or material characterisation and metallography of titanium, Inconel and aluminium alloys
• Technical-Drone (Ghaziabad): assist the Scheme Manager and Evaluators under the Certification Scheme for Unmanned Aircraft Systems
• Management: policy and management implementation support, project monitoring, stakeholder coordination, purchasing and finance activities, CRM, business promotion, social media, administration and marketing
• Any other official work may be allotted depending on requirement and urgency

• EXPERIENCE
• Senior Young Professional: minimum 3 years. Junior Young Professional: minimum 1 year. The experience must be in the relevant field, and for most technical posts the advertisement specifically requires it to be in a testing laboratory.
• QUALIFICATIONS BY POST
• Sr. YP (Technical-RPPT), Ghaziabad: BE/B.Tech in Textile, Footwear, Rubber or Polymer Technology, or M.Sc. Chemistry. Experience in a footwear, textile, rubber, paper or plastic testing laboratory, covering procurement of laboratory equipment and development of a new laboratory test facility.
• Sr. YP (Management), 8 posts: Post Graduate Diploma or MBA from a recognised University or Institution. Experience preferably in a government organisation. Desirable: proficiency in English, technical aptitude, and ability to use web-based tools.
• Sr. YP (Technical-Microbiology), Mumbai: M.Sc. Microbiology or B.Tech in Microbiology.
• Sr. YP (Technical-Food Analyst), Jaipur: M.Sc. in Chemistry, Food Science, Food Technology, Biochemistry, Microbiology or equivalent, and a qualified Food Analyst as per FSSAI, with knowledge of FSSAI and NABL requirements.

• Jr. YP (Technical-Drone), Ghaziabad: BE/B.Tech in Aeronautical, Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, IT or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with one year of full-time post-qualification experience in drone certification activities, and sound knowledge of the requirements to be complied with by drone manufacturers and Certification Bodies under the QCI Certification Scheme for UAS.
