Grievance redressal

JobsInKashmir publishes third-party job notices and is an intermediary for the purposes of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. Those rules require us to publish a grievance contact and to act within set timelines. This is that contact.

What you can raise

• A listing that is misleading, fraudulent, or asks job seekers for money.
• Content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, invasive of privacy or otherwise objectionable.
• Your personal information appearing without your consent.
• Impersonation of you or your organisation.
• A copyright or trademark complaint (see also copyright).
• Anything you asked us to remove where you are unhappy with our response.

What to include

1. Your name and contact details.
2. The link to the page or listing concerned.
3. What the problem is, in your own words.
4. What you would like us to do.
5. Any supporting document — an ID, an authorisation, a court or government order.

Our timelines

• Acknowledgement within 24 hours of receiving your complaint.
• Resolution within 15 days, and sooner where we can.
• Within 24 hours for content that is sexual in nature, impersonation, or morphed images of a person, once we have a valid complaint from the person concerned or someone acting for them.
• Where a lawful order from a court or a competent government authority requires removal, we comply within the period the order specifies.

How we decide

We are a small team publishing notices in the public interest. Where a complaint is clear — a scam, a closed vacancy, an employer asking for their own advert to be removed, personal data published without consent — we act first and discuss afterwards. Where a complaint is contested, we may ask for proof of identity or of the rights you claim before changing anything, and we will explain our decision.
