Mineral Exploration & Consultancy Limited, a Miniratna-I Central PSU under the Ministry of Mines, is recruiting 122 non-executive posts under Advertisement No. 03/Rectt./2026. Online applications run 12 SEPTEMBER to 11 OCTOBER 2026. MOST OF THESE POSTS NEED NO EXPERIENCE AT ALL. Against the Assistant posts the notification simply records "Not Required" in the experience column. The trade posts ask only for desirable experience, which means an ITI or B.Sc fresher can compete on the written test. Only the Accountant post carries a hard three-year experience bar. AND THE ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS ARE ORDINARY ONES - ITI, B.Sc, B.Com and plain graduation carry most of the 122 places. THE 122 POSTS Mechanic-cum-Operator (Drilling) - 30, ITI. The single largest block. Assistant - 16, Graduate. No experience required. Technician (Survey) - 12, ITI in Survey or Diploma in Survey. Technician - 12. Assistant - 10, B.Com. No experience required. Technician (Sampling) - 07, B.Sc. Electrician - 07. Accountant - 06, Graduate plus CA or ICWA Intermediate, with three years of post-qualification experience in accounts. SAP-FICO desirable. Junior Driver - 06. Stenographer - 04. Assistant (IT) - 03. Assistant (HR) - 03. Technician - 02. Machinist - 02. Mechanic - 01. Assistant (Hindi) - 01. PAY. Grade W-4 posts carry a scale of Rs 20,200 to Rs 49,300; the Accountant at W-7 carries Rs 22,900 to Rs 55,900; Junior Driver is W-3. On top of basic pay MECL lists IDA, HRA, perks and allowances, PF contribution, a group performance-related incentive, group medical insurance, an NPS-based superannuation scheme, group personal accident and term insurance, a vehicle loan facility and house building advance. MAXIMUM AGE IS 30 for the posts across the board, with the usual category relaxations. SELECTION IS A WRITTEN TEST, AND THE MERIT LIST IS DRAWN ON WRITTEN TEST MARKS ALONE. What you'll do

• Work as non-executive staff of MECL - a Miniratna-I Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Mines - at its Nagpur corporate office or at project sites and offices across India
• Serve in the trade or function you are recruited for: drilling operations, survey, sampling, electrical work, machining, driving, stenography, accounts, IT, HR or general assistance
• Undertake mineral exploration field work at project sites, where the post requires it
• Accept posting anywhere in India as per the company's requirement

What we're looking for

• TRADE AND TECHNICAL
• Mechanic-cum-Operator (Drilling), W-4 - 30 posts. ITI certificate. Experience desirable only.
• Technician (Survey), W-4 - 12 posts. ITI in Survey OR Diploma in Survey. One year's relevant survey experience desirable, not mandatory.
• Technician, W-4 - 12 posts.
• Technician (Sampling), W-4 - 07 posts. B.Sc. One year in drill core or mine sampling desirable, not mandatory.
• Electrician, W-4 - 07 posts.
• Junior Driver, W-3 - 06 posts.
• Technician, W-4 - 02 posts. Machinist, W-4 - 02 posts. Mechanic, W-4 - 01 post.
• CLERICAL AND SUPPORT
• Assistant, W-4 - 16 posts. GRADUATE. Experience: NOT REQUIRED.
• Assistant, W-4 - 10 posts. B.COM. Experience: NOT REQUIRED.
• Stenographer, W-4 - 04 posts.

• THE ONE POST THAT DOES NEED EXPERIENCE
• Accountant, W-7 - 06 posts. A graduate AND an Intermediate pass of CA or ICWA, plus THREE YEARS of post-qualification relevant experience in accounts work after passing the Intermediate. Basic computer proficiency and SAP-FICO are desirable.

• AGE
• Maximum 30 years for the posts, reckoned on the cut-off date specified in the advertisement, with category relaxations as per Government norms.
• PAY SCALES
• W-7: Rs 22,900 - 55,900. W-4: Rs 20,200 - 49,300. W-3 for Junior Driver.
• Beyond basic pay, MECL lists IDA, HRA, perks and allowances, PF contribution, a group performance-related incentive, group medical insurance, an employee defined contributory superannuation scheme under NPS, group personal accident insurance, group term insurance, a vehicle loan facility and house building advance as per company guidelines.
• SELECTION
• Applications are shortlisted by a Screening Committee on academic credentials and, where applicable, relevant experience and expertise.
• Shortlisted candidates sit a WRITTEN TEST. A cut-off percentage of total marks is applied category-wise.
• The merit list is drawn on WRITTEN TEST MARKS ALONE, approved by the concerned Director.
• Candidates clearing the written test are called for Document Verification, ordinarily in a ratio of 1:7 in order of merit. Where far more candidates clear, the ratio may be adjusted; where fewer clear, all of them are called.
• A skill test or trade test applies to the relevant posts.
• No correspondence is entertained regarding shortlisting, document verification, written test, skill test or trade test. Canvassing in any form leads to disqualification.
• Appointment on selection is subject to being declared medically fit; MECL reimburses the medical examination fee.
