About this job
The Indian Space Research Organisation has advertised 267 non-technical posts under Advt No. ISRO:ICRB:01(A-JPA):2026 dated 27 July 2026, as amended by a corrigendum dated 11 August. All of them are Level-4 with a basic of Rs 25,500, and all are open to any graduate with 60 per cent marks - no engineering or science background is required. Jammu is one of the 38 written test venues, so a candidate from J&K sits the examination locally rather than travelling. Be clear on one point though: the posts themselves are at ISRO centres in Bengaluru, Thiruvananthapuram, Sriharikota, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Hassan, Mahendragiri and New Delhi. There is no ISRO establishment in J&K, so selection means relocating. Applications close on 20 August 2026.

- The corrigendum of 11 August added 23 posts to the original 244, most of them Assistant posts at Thiruvananthapuram, which went from 6 to 26
What we're looking for
- A Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60 per cent marks, or a CGPA of 6.32 out of 10. This is a graduate-entry recruitment with no technical background required
- Computer proficiency is required for all posts
- For Junior Personal Assistant and Stenographer, a shorthand speed of 60 words per minute in English is required. The corrigendum also allows a diploma holder with one year of experience as a stenotypist or stenographer to satisfy the qualification
- Maximum age 28 years for UR and EWS, 31 for OBC and 33 for SC and ST
- Age is reckoned as on 16 August 2026. Read that date carefully - the corrigendum extended the application deadline to 20 August but left the age reckoning date where it was, so the two are four days apart
- Processing fee Rs 500. Rs 400 of it is refunded on appearing for the written test, and women, SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates get the whole amount back
- Selection is a written test of 150 minutes, shortlisting at a ratio of 1:5, then a skill test - computer literacy for all, and a stenography test for JPA and Stenographer posts

Applications are online only, through the recruitment page at isro.gov.in. The window opened on 27 July 2026 and, following the corrigendum of 11 August, closes on 20 August 2026 at 11:55 PM, with fee payment allowed to the same date. Read the corrigendum alongside the main advertisement - it changed the vacancy numbers and the deadline, and the original PDF on its own is out of date. Jammu is a written test venue, so the examination itself does not require travel; the posting does, since ISRO has no centre in J&K.
