IndianOil Apprentice 2026 - 20 Seats for J&K, No Exam and No Interview | Indian Oil Corporation

Pay

Pay as per government rules

Stipend is the statutory rate under the Apprentices Act 1961 plus Rs 2,500 a month paid by IndianOil NR. The notice prints no fixed figure, so treat any rupee amount you see on an aggregator as invented. Up to Rs 3,000 of pre-engagement medical costs is reimbursed.

About this job

IndianOil has opened its Northern Region apprentice intake for 2026-27, and 20 of the 433 seats are earmarked for Jammu & Kashmir. It is one of the few central openings this month that does not run a written test or an interview at all - candidates are ranked purely on the marks in their qualifying exam, so a good ITI, diploma, Class 12 or degree result is the whole application. The J&K seats are split four ways: Technician Apprentice 7, Graduate Apprentice 5, Trade Apprentice (ITI) 4 and Trade Apprentice - Data Entry Operator 4. Between them they cover school-leavers with a skill certificate, ITI holders, polytechnic diploma holders and plain graduates from any stream, which makes this the widest-reaching central advertisement we have listed this season. Read the eligibility bars carefully before you start. This is a 12-month apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, not a job - IndianOil states plainly that completing it carries no claim to employment afterwards.

What you'll do

  • Undergo 12 months of structured apprenticeship training at an IndianOil Marketing Division location in the Northern Region
  • Technician and Graduate Apprentices train under the NATS scheme; ITI trades and Data Entry Operators under NAPS
  • Work at the location IndianOil allots - you list three preferred locations, but the posting is decided by the Corporation
  • Complete document verification and a pre-engagement medical fitness test before joining
  • Maintain an Aadhaar-seeded, DBT-enabled bank account throughout, since part of the stipend is paid directly by the Board of Apprenticeship Training

What we're looking for

  • J&K SEATS - 20 IN TOTAL
  • Technician Apprentice (codes 101-106) - 7 seats - 3-year full-time diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Electrical & Electronics or Electronics Engineering, 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PwBD on reserved seats)
  • Graduate Apprentice (code 112) - 5 seats - full-time BBA, BA, B.Com or B.Sc in any discipline, 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PwBD on reserved seats)
  • Trade Apprentice - ITI (codes 107-111) - 4 seats - Matric plus a 2-year full-time NCVT/SCVT ITI in Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic or Machinist; pass marks are enough
  • Trade Apprentice - Data Entry Operator (codes 113-114) - 4 seats - Class 12 but below graduate. Code 114 additionally needs an NSQF-recognised Domestic Data Entry Operator skill certificate
  • CATEGORY SPLIT FOR J&K
  • Of the 20 seats, 16 are Unreserved and 4 are OBC (Non-Creamy Layer). There is not a single SC, ST, EWS or PwBD seat in the J&K quota - one seat in each of the four groups is the OBC-NCL seat.
  • AGE
  • 18 to 24 years as on 31.08.2026. OBC-NCL up to 27, SC/ST up to 29, PwBD relaxations up to 10 further years - but relaxation applies only against seats reserved for that category, and in J&K only the OBC-NCL seats exist.
  • WHAT MAKES YOU INELIGIBLE - READ THIS BEFORE APPLYING

  • Holding, or currently pursuing, B.E./B.Tech, MBA, MCA, CA, ICWA, LLB or any equivalent higher professional qualification
  • More than five years having passed since you acquired the qualifying degree, diploma or certificate, reckoned on 31.08.2026
  • A year or more of work experience after obtaining a diploma or vocational certificate
  • An apprenticeship contract already approved on the NATS portal - BOAT (NR) will not create a second one
  • SELECTION
  • No written test and no interview. A merit list is drawn from the percentage in the qualifying examination. Ties are broken by the older date of birth first, then by matriculation percentage. First-time apprentices are given preference. Shortlisted candidates face document verification and a pre-engagement medical.
  • STIPEND AND COSTS
  • The statutory rate under the Apprentices Act 1961 and Rules 1992, plus Rs 2,500 a month from IndianOil NR towards miscellaneous expenses. The advertisement prints no fixed monthly figure. How to apply

Advertisement No. IOCL/MKTG/NR/APPR/2026-27/1. Applications opened 7 August 2026 at 10:00 AM and close 6 September 2026 at 5:00 PM. Age and qualification are both reckoned as on 31 August 2026. THE APPLICATION HAS TWO PARTS AND BOTH ARE COMPULSORY Step 1 - Register and apply on the correct portal. ITI trades and Data Entry Operator apply on NAPS at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in Diploma (Technician) and Graduate apprentices apply on NATS at nats.education.gov.in/student_register.php After logging in, apply against IndianOil Corporation Limited (MD) - Northern Region Office using Establishment ID NATS NDLSDC000005 or NAPS E05200700003. Step 2 - Submit the Microsoft Form at https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/pw7D2cUK7c by 6 September 2026, 5:00 PM, giving your preferred state and three preferred locations. IndianOil states that a candidate who applies on the portal but does not submit this form will NOT be considered. Submit the form once only - multiple responses are not entertained. Apply for ONE discipline code only. Applying for more than one gets every application summarily rejected. Make sure your name, category and aggregate percentage are correct on the portal profile before you apply - IndianOil will not accept changes afterwards, and corrections have to be made through the NAPS/NATS office. The advertisement carries no helpline number or recruitment email. Any corrigendum or update will appear only at https://www.iocl.com/apprenticeships, so check that page rather than any other site.
