The Department of Management Studies at Central University of Kashmir is taking Guest Teachers for its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and the selection is a single walk-in interview at the Tulmulla campus in Ganderbal on 21 August 2026. There is no online form and no application to post. You turn up with your documents, and that is the entire process - which makes this one of the few teaching openings in the valley where a qualified candidate can go from reading about it to being interviewed inside a week. Two things to be clear about before you plan around it. The notice does not say how many teachers the department wants - it reads Guest Teacher/s throughout - so treat the number as unknown rather than assuming one or assuming several. And the engagement runs only to 31 December 2026 in the first instance, extendable if required, so this is a session appointment rather than a post. Pay is per lecture. Rs 1,000 each, capped at Rs 25,000 in a month, with travel allowance on top.

What you'll do

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by the Department of Management Studies
• Serve for the academic session 2026-2027, initially to 31 December 2026, with extension possible if the department requires it
• Attend at the Tulmulla Campus, Ganderbal, and claim travel allowance per day of visit

What we're looking for

• ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION
• A Bachelor's degree in any discipline, together with a Master's degree in Business Administration, PGDM, CA, ICWA or M.Com, held in First Class or the equivalent.
• Note that CA, ICWA and M.Com are named in the notification alongside MBA and PGDM. Several websites carrying this vacancy list only MBA and PGDM, and quote a 55 per cent threshold that does not appear in the notice - the requirement printed is First Class or equivalent.
• NET OR PhD
• Beyond the degrees, a candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test conducted by the UGC or the CSIR. Those awarded a PhD in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/PhD Degree) Regulations 2009 or 2016, and their amendments, are exempt from NET.
• NET is also not required for Master's programmes in disciplines for which the UGC, CSIR or a similar UGC-accredited body does not conduct the test.
• DESIRABLE
• Two years of professional experience after the Master's degree, and an MBA with specialisation in Finance and Operations Management.
• WHAT TO CARRY ON THE DAY
• All relevant documents in original together with photocopies - educational qualifications, marksheets and experience certificates - plus a passport-size photograph.
• WHAT YOU ARE PAID
• Rs 1,000 for each lecture delivered, subject to a maximum of Rs 25,000 in any month. Travelling allowance of Rs 300 for each day of visit, subject to a maximum of Rs 5,000 a month. Monthly earnings therefore depend on the teaching load allotted, and the figures above are ceilings rather than guarantees.
